Summer Reed Academy
Summer 2022
The West Virginia University Summer Reed Academy is a comprehensive musical experience
for high school saxophone, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon students. The academy will
provide a deep dive into important topics for reed players such as orchestral repertoire,
chamber music, jazz, and contemporary and extended techniques. Students will receive
individual lessons, participate in chamber music, and attend masterclasses during
the week-long event. This academy is intended for intermediate to advanced level
reed students. Students will experience clinics and workshops by WVU reed
faculty and guest artists. Attendees can choose to attend in-person or online.

5:00pm – Dinner and Evening Recreational Activities
