Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre

The Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre is a 1,440 seat house with a proscenium stage 60 feet in width. We offer concerts, operas, and musical theatre performances in this space. This theatre also hosts the Arts and Entertainment series that brings in tours of Broadway shows, concert artists, and other performing groups.

Bloch Learning and Performance Hall

This recently renovated 155 seat recital space is the primary recital and chamber music performance space for the School of Music. Both American and German Steinway pianos are used in this intimate performance venue. Performances in the BLPH are also easily recorded from the School of Music’s recording studio.

Gladys G. Davis Theatre

The Gladys G. Davis Theatre is a recently remodeled thrust theatre that seats 212. Although technically a thrust theatre, the Gladys G. Davis Theatre has been configured as an arena and a proscenium space for recent productions.

Antoinette E. Falbo Theatre

Antoinette Falbo Theatre is a black box theatre seating 105 people. This space is used primarily for the Opera Program for producing their opera scenes. This space features a flexible ceiling grid, wood flooring, and walls of mirrors, for dancing and singing.

Glasscock General Music Classroom

This C-tech compatible classroom includes state-of-the-art audio/video equipment, houses the School of Music’s Orff instrumentarium, and collection of world percussion instruments for general music education.

Electronic Music Studio

The Electronic Music Studio (CCAC 4123) at WVU is a workspace and classroom environment designed to support students' creative and professional endeavors involving music technologies and for developing skills in the production and performance of electronic music.

The studio is equipped with three workstations with a Mac studio, iMac, and MacBook Pro. Studio users have access to professional production software such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Reaper, iZotope Production Suite, Komplete 11 Suite, Adobe Audition, Max 8 and more. Courses offered in the studio explore introductory and advanced concepts in sound design, synthesis concepts, sampling, recording, audio manipulation, surround and 3D audio, composition, mixing, and live performance techniques. The studio supports student and faculty performances of electronic music within the CCAC. All WVU music majors have access to the studio's X32 Compact digital mixer, speakers, MIDI controllers, keyboards, and wired and wireless microphones for live performance situations involving electronics within the CCAC.

The three workstations in the studio offer different workflows to suit a variety of creative interests and to enable students to develop independence and confidence in working with music software and hardware. The Mac studio station is setup with a 6.1 surround sound setup with Genelec studio monitors, and a multi-track recording setup. The iMac station is optimized for students working with film scoring and notation software, while the MacBook station is mobile for performance situations.
