Raised in a musical family in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Brian Wolfe received his bachelor’s degree in Percussion Performance from West Virginia University in 1996 and relocated to New York City in 1999.

Brian has been the drummer on a number of recording sessions with Grammy nominated producers including 

John Legend, Ryan Tedder, Brian Eno, Phil Ramone, Mitchell Froom, Gabe Roth, Mark Ronson, and Mike Viola.

Brian has performed on a number of national television shows including:

“The Late Show with David Letterman” with David Byrne and St. Vincent, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” with Mandy Moore, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert", "Conan", “Michael Buble’s Christmas in Hollywood” and “Later with Jules Holland” with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, “Austin City Limits” with Kat Edmonson, “Good Morning America” with Aloe Blacc, and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” with Sufjan Stevens, Philip Selway (of Radiohead), and Jim James (of My Morning Jacket).

In 2016, after living and working in New York City for seventeen years, Brian relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and joined the faculty at West Virginia University as the Professor of Drumset Studies. In addition to his work at WVU, Brian continues to maintain a busy schedule performing and recording in Pittsburgh, touring with national artists, and recording for producers in New York City (Daptone, Hive Mind), Riverside, CA (Penrose) and Charlottesville/Richmond, VA (Spacebomb, Porter’s Gate).
